Educational Consulting
- Are you overwhelmed or confused when making educational decisions for your child?
- Is your child underperforming at school? Working to his or her potential? Maybe you're not sure?
- Are you frustrated with the school's ability to meet your child's needs?
- Are you considering a change of schools or thinking about homeschooling?
Katherine Miller provides a wide variety of educational services and support to children, families, and adults. When school and learning issues arise, parents often feel overwhelmed. Our role is to develop clear, appropriate and effective solutions, and then to implement those solutions both at school and at home. Whatever your need, Katherine's unique strength is her ability to establish close personal relationships with students and their families in order to communicate honestly and effectively about how to achieve their goals. Many families have utilized Katherine's services for two or more siblings because of the bond of integrity, credibility, and trust that was developed over time.
Katherine MillerMy approach is very nuts and bolts. I synthesize testing reports, school performance, teacher feedback, and parental concerns to identify just a couple "big ticket" items. We start there, and build on success.
- Get the services your child needs
- Communicate more effectively with school
- Improve school performance
- Reduce homework stress - for parents and students!
- Navigate the I.E.P process with knowledge and purpose
- Facilitate school success for the ADD/ADHD student
- Define clear and achievable educational goals and objectives
- Plan for the future
- Develop a Home-Schooling curriculum
- Put the testing report to work in the classroom
Parent, Conestoga/ University of MiamiWell, little did I think 4 months ago that I would be waving goodbye to Ben as he was going off to Africa. The smile on his face was priceless! I also didn't think I would be saying he would be going to University of Miami in the fall. But all of that is the case. There is such a change in him since January, one that I certainly didn't expect to see for some time. I always knew that he had all of it inside him and he seems to have found a way to let it out. You made such a difference to him. He really trusted and valued what you had to say and I want to thank you for all you did for him.
Parent, Homebound, Lower Moreland High SchoolOur meeting with you was just want she needed. I think that your list and breaking things down helped her get a grip on the small amount that really needed to get done. She really enjoyed your humor and your frankness. (Mom and Dad did also!) We may check in with you earlier if she needs to get more info on places to go in the summer and then the fall. I am hoping that she will get things done so she can start SAT prep, but we will have to wait and see.
Thanks for your help and for your push with Alexandra, you are just what the doctor ordered!
Parent, ConestogaTom and I cannot thank you enough for all of your support over the years in getting him to where he is today. (I should have paid extra for the sympathetic shoulder you provided so frequently). You have an amazing connection with kids - the right blend of appreciation/enthusiasm/candidness that gets them to produce. I am so glad we had the opportunity to work with you.
Parent, Episcopal"…we also like your style and feel that you are a straight shooter…
